Off topic question—-I live in the Salt Lake area. In commercial landscaping (like around shopping centers and malls), I often see begonias used as borders. These begonias are in FULL sun.
I have always thought that begonias were shade or part/shade flowers. However, these begonias seem to thrive in full sun.
Is there a secret kind of begonia that only landscape professionals know about that can be grown in full sun?
Hi Clara,
You know, I’m not sure…I think there are a lot of begonias that will tolerate some periods of full sun, but like you said the ones I’m most familiar with are usually planted in shady areas. I’ll have to do some asking around and see what I can find out. I’ll let you know, though, if I find out what kind they are.
Some say I have a green thumb. Some call me a plant whisperer. All I know is I love watching things grow. If you love that too, but maybe wish you knew more about the "how" or "what" or "when", you've come to the right place.
